About Marquis

A small spa for a fuller kind of attention.

Marquis day SPA brings together a forest setting, sensory care, and curiosity about how we experience the body.

Created by Daniel McShan

Marquis is a private, forest-surrounded spa created as an antidote to overstimulation and endless screens. Its rituals are designed around the whole atmosphere: light, sound, temperature, touch, and the pace of the room.

Rather than chasing trends, Marquis brings together a considered set of sensory and reflective experiences. Some are quiet and restorative; others invite exploration and play. Each begins with a conversation so the session can be shaped around your preferences and boundaries.

Curiosity with care

The spa’s approach is science-aware and experiential. It is not a medical clinic or psychotherapy practice, and its sessions do not diagnose or treat health conditions. When a ritual raises a health question, consult an appropriately qualified health professional before scheduling.

Curious about the science behind the approach? The research shelf gathers peer-reviewed studies and Harvard Health articles on how affectionate touch and sexual intimacy relate to anxiety and stress — with the limits of the evidence left in view.
